Win a Free Year of PTRG — The Champion Program Is Live (15 May 2026)

Updated: May 20

By DNSystems LLC (dnsystemsllc.com/contact/)

TL;DR:

Bring 10 Squadron-tier subscribers into PTRG in 90 days and you walk away with 12 months of Recon ($7,500 value) absolutely free!!

No cash payouts to track. No 1099s. No Stripe Connect overhead. Just the most valuable thing we can give a working pentester: more PTRG, on us.

Enroll in 60 seconds at ptrg.dnsystemsllc.com/about?tab=champion. The clock starts the moment you click.

Why we built this (and why it's different from every other referral program you've seen)

Every SaaS in the world bolts on a referral program eventually. Most are insulting:

- "Refer a friend, get $25." — On a $7,500/yr product? Insulting.

- "Get 10% off your next month." — You already pay annual. Worthless.

- "Earn $X per converted lead, paid via Stripe Connect." — Now you're a 1099 contractor with quarterly tax filings for $400.

So we asked ourselves: what does a working pentester actually want from a referral program?

The answer was obvious.

More PTRG.

Free months.

Free seats.

Free formats.

The same tool they're already paying for, but more of it, for longer, at zero cost.

That's the Champion Program. You bring us the right kind of subscriber — an active pentest practice that buys at Engage+ or Squadron+ — and we hand you Recon months in return. No cash. No 1099. No tax form. No Stripe Connect. Just an invoice credit applied to your account, automatically, within 31 days of your referral's payment clearing.

---

The four reward tiers

Free months stack cumulatively on top of whatever paid time you already have. Already on annual Recon and you earn 6 months? Your renewal date pushes out 6 months. Already on Squadron+ and you earn 12 months? Your Squadron subscription doesn't change, but you get a year of Recon on top — give it to a junior, or run it as your personal sandbox for client demos.

No double-dipping — each referral counts once for the highest tier it qualifies for. Bring 10 Squadrons and you get the 12-month reward, not "12 + 6 + 3 + 1" stacked.

We're generous, not unhinged.

How a referral actually counts

This is the part that matters. We're allergic to gameable referral programs (so are you). Here's exactly what we count:

1. You enroll at '/about?tab=champion` — one click, no application form.

2. You add a contact to your Champion roster with:

- Their name

- Their work email

- The company they work for

- **A consent checkbox** attesting *they gave you permission to be introduced to PTRG*

3. We send them an invite with your Champion code pre-filled. They get a 14-day extended trial as a thank-you.

4. They subscribe to Engage or above using your code on a paid annual or paid monthly plan.

5. 31-day verification window kicks in. If they're still paying after 31 days (we run a webhook-driven verification cron — no manual review, no judgment calls), the referral counts.

6. Your reward queues automatically. Free Recon months added to your account at the next billing tick.

That's it. No commissions to chase. No invoicing. No screenshots to prove the referral happened. It's all instrumented end-to-end on our side.

---

The consent rule — and why it matters

This is the only rule we'll revoke your enrollment over:

> Every contact you add to your Champion roster must be someone who gave you explicit permission to be introduced to PTRG.

No scraped lists. No conference-badge ABM grabs. No LinkedIn-Sales-Navigator dumps. No \"I know someone at AcmeBank security let me try them. If the person didn't say yeah, I'd be open to seeing this tool — they don't go on your roster.

We enforce this with a per-contact consent checkbox. We also audit Champion rosters quarterly for cold-list patterns (high-volume single-day dumps, gmail-only addresses, missing company affiliations). Scraped lists are a violation of the Champion Terms and result in immediate enrollment revocation. We're CAN-SPAM and GDPR friendly. You should be too.

The good news: a competent senior pentester probably has 20-30 peers across other consultancies / corporate red teams / DFIR shops who'd welcome a hey, you've got to see what these guys built introduction. That's the addressable audience. You don't need a database.

Why Recon is the right reward

We thought hard about whether to give away Engage tier or Squadron tier instead of Recon. Here's why we landed where we landed:

Recon is our best-engineered tier. Two operators. 7 active engagements. Six report bundles a month. Encrypted PDF + slide-deck PDF + findings CSV on every report. 5×5 Mission Severity Matrix. Integrated CVSS v4.0 calculator. NVD CVE picker with one-click enrichment. Five-layer malware scan. STRIDE + DREAD threat modeling. Universal scanner import (Nessus, Qualys, Burp, ZAP, Semgrep, Trivy, GHAS, Rapid7, SARIF). One-year report retention.

That's not a stripped-down "starter" tier. That's a fully equipped pentest reporting platform. At $6,500/yr it's already 20% cheaper than PlexTrac's entry SKU. As a free reward it's the single most valuable freebie any pentest reporting vendor has ever offered an operator, full stop.

Earn 12 months of it and you can:

- Run your personal side practice on it for free, all year.

- Hand it to a junior at your consultancy to skill up on.

- Run a security-research project on it (CVE write-ups, conference talks, blog series — all in PTRG-quality format).

- Use it as a"sample reports\" sandbox for prospects without burning your production engagement caps.

The realistic math — how do you actually win 12 months?

Let's be honest about who can pull off the 12-month reward.

You can win it if you are:

- A senior pentester at a consultancy of 50+

- An independent veteran with a portfolio of corporate client relationships

- A DFIR practitioner with a wide cross-vendor network

- A bug-bounty platform employee with peer relationships across red teams

- Any one of the dozens of US-government-cleared red teamers who all know each other

You probably won't win 12 months if you are:

- A solo pentester just starting out (which is fine — the 1-month and 3-month rewards are absolutely within reach)

- Someone whose network is concentrated in IT/sysadmin (Squadron+ is for active offensive teams, not blue teams)

The 1-month reward — 2 Engage+ subscribers in 31 days — is genuinely achievable for anyone with a working network. Two pentesters you respect, who you've talked to about reporting tools at some point, who'd be open to a "you have to see this" intro.

The 12-month reward exists because we want to reward the operators who are the loudest voices in pentest community — the ones who speak at conferences, who teach SANS courses, who have podcasts.

If that's you, we want PTRG in your hands for free, for as long as possible, because everything you do moves the entire pentest reporting bar upward.

Frequently asked questions

**Q: Do free Recon months count toward the Champion Program myself? Can I refer myself in a loop?**

No. Free-via-Champion accounts are flagged in the database and can't generate their own qualifying referrals during the free-month window. We thought of this on day one.

**Q: What if my referral cancels after 31 days?**

The reward already credited stays. We're not clawing back free months from honest Champions because a referred customer churned three months later. The 31-day verification window is the only check.

**Q: What if my referral pays monthly instead of annual?**

Counts the same. Annual is preferred (they're a stickier subscriber) but a verified paid monthly subscription qualifies on day 31.

**Q: Can I use my free Recon months to seat a new operator alongside my main account?**

Yes — that's actually one of our favorite use cases. The 12-month reward becomes a free year of side practice for your most promising junior. Hand them the credentials, let them learn on real client artifacts (anonymized of course), give them ownership of their own engagement workflow.

**Q: What if my employer pays for my PTRG subscription but I'm the one bringing in referrals?**

You earn the rewards on your personal account. Your employer's subscription is unaffected. Your Champion months apply to a **separate Recon account** you control. We don't co-mingle. This is your reward.

**Q: How do you prevent abuse — fake referrals, sock-puppet accounts, etc.?**

Three layers:

1.The 31-day paid-subscription verification. Sock puppets that don't actually pay don't count.

2. Per-Champion roster audits. High-volume single-day adds with no clear network pattern trigger a manual review.

3. The consent checkbox. If we get a complaint from a referred contact saying "I never gave permission to be introduced," your enrollment is revoked and any unearned rewards forfeited.

It's not a gamblng system. It's not a leaderboard. It's a partnership between us and the operators who genuinely want more PTRG in the world.

**Q: Is there a deadline to enroll?**

No. The Champion Program is permanent. The 90-day clock starts when you **add your first contact**, not when you enroll. So you can enroll now, plan your outreach for next quarter, and start your clock then.

**Q: What if PTRG raises its prices? Do my free months stay valid?**

Yes. Free months earned are pegged to the Recon tier as it exists today. Even if Recon goes to $9,500/yr next year, your 12-month reward is still 12 months of full-spec Recon.

**Q: I'm an MSP / MSSP / consultancy reselling pentest services. Can my whole team enroll?**

Each person enrolls individually. We don't run org-level Champion accounts. This is a personal recognition program for individual operators, not a partner-channel program. (We have a separate channel partner conversation for orgs — `info@dnsystemsllc.com`.)

**Q: What's the catch?**

There isn't one. We make money from new Engage+ / Squadron+ subscribers. Every referral that converts is more revenue for us than the cost of giving you free Recon months. The math works for both sides. The only \"catch\" is the consent rule, and frankly that's not a catch — it's a baseline ethical requirement for sending anyone marketing material in 2026.

The 30-second enrollment walkthrough

1. Log into PTRG at ptrg.dnsystemsllc.com

2. Click Champion → Enroll in the left sidebar (or hit the `/about?tab=champion` page directly)

3. Read the Champion Terms (2-page PDF, plain English, no surprises)

4. Click Enroll as Champion**

5. Add your first contact: name + email + company + consent checkbox

6. Click Send invite

That's the whole flow. We send them an invite email with your Champion code pre-filled. They get a 14-day extended trial. If they subscribe at Engage+ within the trial window, your 31-day verification cron kicks in. If they're still paying on day 31, your reward queues automatically.

What we won't do

To set expectations clearly:

- We will never email your contact list more than once unless they explicitly opt into our newsletter. One invite, one follow-up at day 7, then radio silence. We don't drip-campaign your peers.

- We will never use your Champion roster for our own outbound prospecting. Your roster is yours. We see the names so we can attribute referrals, not to add to our marketing automation.

- We will never sell or share the roster. Champion roster data is firewalled from every other PTRG subsystem.

- We will never run a leaderboard that publicly ranks Champions by referrals. This isn't a contest. It's a partnership. (If you want to be publicly recognized as a top Champion — for your own marketing — that's a conversation we'll have on request, with your explicit opt-in.)

---

The one-line pitch you can copy/paste to your peers:

> Hey — found a pentest reporting platform built by an active pentester that's 20% cheaper than PlexTrac and ships things PlexTrac doesn't (NVD enrichment, malware scanning on every upload, AI writeup assistant, DREAD↔CVSS auto-convert, universal scanner import). Free 5-second sandbox, no credit card. Worth 10 minutes: [your Champion link]

That's the entire pitch. Drop it in a DM.

Drop it in your consultancy Slack.

Mention it next time you grab coffee with a peer at another shop.

The product does the rest.

---

Why Champion?

Because we ran out of cute names. "Ambassador" felt corporate. "Advocate" felt legal. "Referrer" felt transactional. "Champion" is what you call the person on your team who actually uses the tool, who knows where the bodies are buried, who can speak with authority about why it works. That's the kind of person we want spreading the word.

If you've ever been the person at your consultancy who said "we should switch to X because Y" and turned out to be right — congrats, you're already a Champion. We just want to formalize it and pay you for it. In free months. Of our best tier.
